Lakes High open day

On Wednesday 11th September we went on  trip to lakes high to there open day it was a very good experience firstly we went to there , just awesome gym it was so big and we played a new game called pirates let me explain , at first you had the about 6 pirates and the rest had to run across the yellow lines only to try and not get tug and there was some cool obstacles that you had to go over like an A frame and the trampoline my favorite part was when i got the the top of the ropes hanging from the top of the gym and no one could get me until i got tiered and went down and got tug.

Next we had music there musicians are really talented and i want to get lessons so i can play my guitar at the moment i can't play much only two ten second songs. After music we went to math and i found out at lakes  highs math is fun and that is a rare thing for me to say. The best activity was science because i did something strange but new we played with fire we used different powders like copper and put them over a cooking flame and the flame changed colour there was rose red yellow and even green it was amazing over all i think that definitely is the school i'm going to i rate the day an nice 9/10

Devon Intermediate Exchange

Devon Exchange

On Monday the 2nd Devon Intermediate arrived and then the billets when to there hosts and slept. On Tuesday the 3rd of September
the battle was on to win the Richard Thomsan Cup and I was playing soccer and the soccer was by a long shot much harder than last year and there players were really aggressive and they were-* /*/*-easy to tackle and to gain possession of the ball but it was still a hard game because Devon just wouldn't give up so it was a good game but in the end they where a good sport but we won in the end and it's the first time the boys soccer has ever won a game against Devon it was amazing everyone was cheering and all of us went wild and we should be having a treat because we won 2-1.o

Strombreaker Book vs Movie

Stormbreaker Book vs. Movie
This term our class p4 have been reading an action packed book called Stormbreaker we watched the movie after we read the book and we are going to compare it to the book.

In the beginning of the book is better than the movie because it kept you of the edge of your seat even in the most relaxed parts also it was more explanatory in the intro because so it make it exiting.

The middle of the movie is boring because they skipped most of the exiting parts but  some of the scenes were still as exciting as the book but it is a bit poor I was wanting to see what the mine looks like under water.

The end Is probably better in the movie it seems better because it has more meaning and its more emotional and the death of herrod salye look more dramatic.

So with that spoken I think that the book is better than the movie because it is more action packed.

How to make a paper airplane

Fold 11. Fold the paper along the width then unfold it to create a crease along its center.
Fold 22. On one side of the paper, fold each corner in towards the center to the point where the inside edges are even with the centerline crease.
Fold 33. Starting at the very tip of the point, fold the paper over on each side so the inside edges line up with the center crease.
Fold 44. Turn the paper airplane over and fold it in half along the centerline.
Fold 55. Fold the first wing with the line of the fold running nearly parallel to the centerline of the plane. Make this fold from 1/2 to 1 inch from the center. Step 6 shows this fold more clearly.
6. Fold the second wing exactly as you did the first.
After you have made this plane you may find that it doesn't hold together too well in the rear. Use a small piece of tape along the center fold in the rear to keep it tight. This can be avoided by using smaller pieces of paper.

Respect

This is what i think respect is and here are some videos on what respect means down the bottom. Also respect means caring for one another and helping someone out and being kind that is some of the things respect means there a much more i could say about respect but thoughts are the main things on respect.

The Hatchet

Today on the 11/04/13 we have finally finished the Hatchet it was an amazing emotional story about a thirteen year old boy called Brian and this story of survival and how he survived two months in Canadian bushland. His story of survival is amazing and is a great book.  My favorite part was when he had found the survival pack from the plane that had crashed in the middle of the lake. When is just about to have a feast when he hears a plane it lands on the water then he thinks im saved at last.

Yesterday Norm Hewitt came in to talk to us about animal violence and how it can lead to family violence. He told us about his amazing stories like how he was an All Black and how he was on dancing with the stars in 2005.
